Gin & Tonics in a Furniture Store?
Sounds like a great way to start a Saturday night! Kikekeller is a high-end designer furniture store that morphs into a cocktail bar on weekend nights. The atmosphere is relaxed and trendy, in a modern-European kind of way. There's an excellent selection of gin and an equally wide variety of designer tonics and garnishes like cucumbers, raspberries, olives, limes, etc., so you can immediately tell what the bar is known for. In fact, the waitress even gave me a strange look when I ordered a whiskey and it took her a moment to figure out where it was!
What's cool about this place is its blend of elegance (great music, fine drinks, modern design, beautiful people) and curiosities like a massive vine growing next to the bar, modern art installations, retro furniture, and an indoor patio adorned by a glowing fluorescent cross. They even pay attention to details in the bathroom, where you might find toilet paper featuring the faces of some of Spain's less popular (which is to say, all) politicians.
