Kettlebridge/KingsKettle

Kettlebridge and Kingskettle is a sleepy village that owes its existence to the mining industry. This area was known to the Romans as Caledonia, and the history of the region goes back a long time. Apparently the village was originally called Holekettle, maybe because of its location in a depression between valleys, and the existence of several hot springs, which can often be found along the River Eden.
