Trip to Kangaroo Island
In a country like Australia, you get used to having to travel long distances to get anywhere. In fact, the immense distances and open spaces are part of the country's charm. For this reason, it's so nice to find a small place with the with an enormous diversity of animal life so close. That's the case with Kangaroo Island, one of the best places of the whole country to observe wildlife up close.
Kangaroo Island is about 13km from the mainland, on the southern coast, and you can get there in a comfortable ferry for about $50 (about an hour by boat) or on plane from Adelaide. As an island, it has become something of a marsupial sanctuary.
