The streets around the Basilica are lined with restaurants, hotels and all sorts of souvenir shops. The best selling item are the rosaries and images of the Virgin as well as the candles that pilgrims and curious visitors, then burn on the grill next to the Chapel of the Apparitions. They also sell small chairs, cold drinks, sun hats and other items. If the items are to be blessed, they must be bought before Mass as that's when they will be blessed.
