Jonzac is in the heart of Haute-Saintonge, and is one of the homes of cognac and Pineau des Charentes. A few years ago, the city discovered that their waters which are rich in minerals, had more uses than just quenching thirst. Jonzac is known for its famous therapy centre using thermal troglodytes. In the middle of what was formerly a quarry, these springs were discovered in 1980 when an excavation revealed the existence of hot springs (65-68 ° C) under the ground which had therapeutic properties. Today, specific treatments, therapies and relaxation programs are offered. But this town also has a wonderful castle from the eleventh century where famous guests like Henry VI or Louis XIV stayed.
