To eat crab .....
We have visited Joe's Crab Shack on several occasions, and although the prices are very high there is no question of going frequently as every time we eat very well and receive tremendous attention. We first visited out of curiosity as my mother saw TV program where fishermen embarked on endless trips to catch fish and crabs. The last time we visited was to celebrate my son's 9th birthday! The dishes are usually served in metal buckets and crab comes in the net in which it was cooked. You can order it steamed or with any ingredient such as garlic and hot or barbecue sauce (which gives the crab a special flavor).
Mixed dishes can be ordered such as alaska crab, shrimp and lobster tails, all served with potatoes and corn. You eat with your hands! There is another bucket where you discard the shells and there are towels on the table, as well as tongs and other instrument to remove the meat from the crab properly. There are other dishes like burgers, nachos with crab sauce, salads and soups. The decor is sailor-style and is very informal and fun. The birthday celebration included several waiters singing happy birthday and at the end a good dessert. The place has a space for private parties and a large parking area.
