An easy hike to Buddha Hill
An alternative to the rice fields of Longsheng. They say are just as impressive but without suffering the loads of people of Longsheng. This has less people and is much more authentic. To give you an idea in 2 days only 2 couples we met were Westerners and that it was August. We got there by bus from Yanghsuo and they offer to take your luggage. We carried suitcases with wheels took a 40 minutes walk on stairs up the mountain. If you do not have any major physical problem it can be climbed without problems, but without haste. There are also hotels but nothing else come up with more charm. To give you an idea of what rural is that, as we climbed up we passed locals donkey bricks and provisions, since cars can not climb.
Our hotel was in the middle of the rice fields. The parking seemed the house of the people who live there and who had arranged some rooms. The scrumptious food, all natural and planted there, although communication with the owners was more than difficult because almost everything was in Chinese and no one understands anything at all from English, so much patience and many signs. From here you can hike above for a better view, or take a short walk of a half an hour to the "Buddha Hill". I really do not care where you go as everything is just as nice. Very highly recommended
