Jing´An Buddhist Temple

Jing´An es uno de los barrios más céntricos de Shanghai, y es también una de las zonas donde los expatriados occidentales suelen escoger para vivir. Al sur del barrio, en la lujosa calle West Nanjing Rd. está el templo budista de Jing´An (que significa “tranquilidad”). Fue construido en el año 247 y ha sido restaurado en numerosas ocasiones (fue casi destruido en 1851 y durante la Revolución Cultural fue dañado), de hecho ahora está sufriendo su enésima remodelación, aunque se puede ver casi en su totalidad. La entrada vale diez yuanes (un euro), y podrás visitar las dos salas principales, el patio, la sala de las monedas de la suerte y encender unas barritas de incienso.

Jing'An is one of the most central districts of Shanghai, and is also one of the areas where Western expatriates often choose to live. To the south of the district, the luxurious street in Nanjing West Road is the Buddhist Jing'an Temple (meaning "peace").
