Jina Church
Jina is a fairly large town with a large Orthodox community. We went on Sunday morning to attend the mass in the village. People wore their best clothes for such an important occasion, ranging from miniskirts on the village girls, to a clean shirt and trousers for men, who are in general farmers. One thing struck me at the door of the church was a kind of speaker so that people could hear the preaching outside the church. The songs were beautiful, sometimes sung by the priest, and sometimes by a choir made up of ladies. What I found really strange was that although it is a town with not much to do, and the Mass seems to be the climax of the week, people still came an hour after the start of the mass.
