Jewish life in Greece
The Jewish Museum was created in 1977 to preserve and show the 2,300 years of Jewish life in Greece. It is a historical and ethnographic museum that teaches you in a simple and didactic way about Jewish life and culture from the installation of the diaspora in the country. The new museum building has a full collection of over 800 square meters per theme. We began with the explanation of the Jewish religion, the reproduction of a synagogue, the torah and objects of decoration of prayer, on the next floor, there is a room devoted to the holidays, rituals, presence of the community in different cities of Greece, the Second World War, where the vast majority of Greek Jews were sent to Nazi camps.
