King's Garden (Jardín del Rey)

4 reviews of King's Garden (Jardín del Rey)

Beautiful and evocative

The Jardin del Rey is often over-looked by visitors to the elaborate gardens of the Royal Palace in Aranjuez, Spain. It is located somewhat "behind" the entryway (if that's possible!) and overshadowed by the ornate fountains and magnolia trees of the El Parterre Garden.

The King's Garden is especially charming for its delicate, stylized, and partially-hidden nature.

It has rows of hedges lined with flowers and Greek-style busts lining the flower-covered walls. It's obviously not a reason in and of itself to visit Aranjuez (unless you're a serious garden-fan), but it's one of those places where every single square inch seems made specifically for a photo and merits a moment of exploration. Enjoy!
