Tapas on the seaside promenade
The cuisine offered on the promenade of Ponta Delgada is varied. Bars, restaurants and terraces are found in the Jardim do Petisco area. You can try the local cuisine. We chose this bar on the premises of the Solmar Avenida Center to enjoy the views from the seafront. There's a terrace on the seafront which is called Avenida Infante Dom Henrique. The whole façade is full of such places with indoor and outdoor bars. We chose a salad that's always good, a bit of very good seafood, squid and small desserts recommended by the girl who took our order. We were not disappointed at all. It's a great place for tapas in an unbeatable location in Ponta Delgada.
We also were surprised because the price was not high considering the area. Rather, I dare say, economical. A varied menu, but seafood stands out. Although this ads to the bill it is not a bad choice considering we are in the harbor, so the fish at least should be pretty fresh. The Jardim do Petisco is recommended if you visit the capital of the island of Sao Miguel.
