Shopping in New Delhi
Considered one of the main markets of the city of Delhi, Janpath Market is a favorite for tourists who want to take a souvenir or bargain home. The Janpath market offers all kinds of goods, from food usually bought by the locals to handicrafts from all over India, usually bought by tourists. Haggling, as in all cities in India, is a must although depending on the time of day traders tend to loosen over prices. Janpath is located on the road linking Lodhi Road and Connaught Place and to reach it can take either a commuter train or subway, as well as taxi meter or rickshaw. Make sure to agree rates with the last two as they tend to start wanting to charge more than double the normal rate.
