This place will leave you with your mouth open, and even more if you knew that before it used to be a dump, and then César Manrique said that he would transform it into the most visited place in Lanzarote. Some said he was crazy, but there it is, with its famous auditorium, thanks to the acoustic of the place and where international artists have performed. There is also the endemic specie of the albino crab, which looks like hundreds of white dots in the small lagoon.

It is one of the most touristic and impressive places in the island of Lanzarote. The influence of César Manrique in this place is remarkable; the place shares its artificial oasis with natural caves within a peculiar environment.

For me, the most impressive thing was to discover that in this place lives a species that doesn’t exist in any other place of the planet. They are tiny blind crabs, named “albinos” because of their white color. At the beginning it is difficult to know what the tiny white spots in the cave are and, in fact, they are small animals that live there.

Jameos del Agua is a place created by various eruptions of the Corona Volcano, creating these tunnels that have been habilitated for the tourist.

It is the work of César Manrique, to whom we thank, since this place is always full of visitors. It is a place where he expressed a great imagination, taking advantage of the nature of the surroundings.

From the entrance you can already see and feel that it is a special place, you can see the albino crabs, listen to the birds’ songs and enjoy the auditorium; its pool, place of hundreds of articles and where the tourist takes pictures, and by night it is even more mystical and charming.
