Jain Temples of Kumbharia

Tempio Giainista di Kumbhariya è stato protetto dalla verde foresta che lo circonda ed è una metà imperdibile se si sta viaggiando nei dintorni di Ambaji magari andando o venendo da Udaipur o Jodhpur. Questo tempio è gestito dall'associazione culturale Sheth Kalyanji Anandji ni Pedhi e le regole per entrare sono molte, ma almeno è possibile scattare le foto all'interno (eccetto per gli idoli). Ovviamente si entra scalzi, vengono richiesti pantaloni lunghi e abiti appropriati. Se per caso avete pantaloni corti o alle ginocchia potete prendere a noleggio dei pantaloni con 40 rupie e una cauzione di 300. Ci sono tre templi in questo complesso, due piccoli e uno principale, tutti in marmo. Quello principale è davvero stupendo, le incisioni e le statue sono superbe. Il tempio offre anche una piacevole sensazione di fresco, essendo tutto aperto una leggera brezza lo attraversa e invita a rimanere in contemplazione, seduti su una delle terrazze che si affacciano sul verde. Ci sono dei ragazzi che spiegano come si lavora il materiale per il Tilak (ovvero il segno sul terzo occhio che identifica donne e religiosi induisti) che si metteranno in posa per una foto chiedendovi poi una mancia. Anche gli addetti alla sicurezza hanno provato a chiedere rupie o, addirittura, euro! Mi raccomando non cascate in queste trappole.

Jain Temple of Kumbhariya was protected by the green forest that surrounds him and is a must if you are traveling half around Ambaji maybe going or coming from Udaipur and Jodhpur. Obviously you enter barefoot, long pants are required and appropriate clothes. If by chance you have shorts or knees can take to hire pants with 40 rupees and a deposit of 300. There are three temples in this complex, two small and one main, all in marble. The main one is really gorgeous, engravings and statues are superb. The temple also offers a pleasant cool feeling, being fully open and a slight breeze through it invites you to stay in contemplation, sitting on one of the terraces overlooking the greenery. There are some guys that explain how to work the material for the Tilak (ie the sign on the third eye that identifies women and Hindu religious) which contact, posing for a picture then asking a tip. Even the security people have tried to ask rupees or even euro! I recommend not falls into these traps.
