Interesting and varied
The IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art) investigates and spreads the word of contemporary and modern art. To do so, they organize a program of activities including seasonal exhibits, they edit catalogues and other publications. They host conferences, curses, workshops, and even concerts. All of these activities are related to their temporal expositions and other fields of modern art. The expositions of the artistic background of IVAM and the Julio Gonzalez collection (with his iron sculptures and various interpretations of “La Montserrat”) are always available.
The building is an 18,000 m2 modern style building. 60% is dedicated to house seven galleries for the museum’s collection and temporary exhibits. The outside is always specially decorated, depending on the themes of the temporary exhibits.
