Istanbul

Mosques of Istanbul are characterized by their many domes, many are in Byzantine style and others have inherited features. But once inside, the size is totally different. The interiors of these domes are richly decorated in different colors and styles, although many share similar features it's impossible to find one equal to another. It's wonderful, enter and look at the ceiling, it takes you to a world of unmatched richness and color, but as they are very high you'll have some neck pain.

The photos are from May 2010 during my visit to Istanbul. Istanbul is a city of feelings and these photos feature such sensations. The first is the Bosphorus Bridge with the feeling between two continents Europe and Asia so different yet so close (a bridge just over a mile). The second is the Grand Bazaar where the smells and colors produce a feeling that transports you from one moment to the golden age of Arab culture. The third are the Yerebatan cisterns (taking us nothing more and nothing less than to the Byzantine period of the 500s). These are places that make me feel very small between two

This was my lass cup of the famous Turkish tea. Every morning for breakfast, My family and I would get a small glass of this. Almost everyday a friendly group would invite us over to their table to join them for tea. This tea brought people together who would otherwise never cross paths. It may seem like a small gesture, but it was always given with warm intent.
