Isola di Egueye

L'isola di Egueye si trova nel Sud del Senegal, nella regione di Casamance, poco distante dalla più famosa Karabane. E' un'isola dove si respira il sapore della trdizione, dove, una volta sbarcati, ci si inoltra tra stradine sterrate, baracche in lamiera e casupole dove immergersi nella vera vita senegalese. Egueye è nota per la lavorazione del pesce e visitandola è possibile seguire il percorso che il pescato fa a partire dal momento in cui le reti vengono prelevate dal mare fino alla fase dell'essicazione, in cui centinaia di tranci vengono adagiati al sole su enormi tavoli e teli blu. C'è anche la "fabbrica" in cui vengono costruite le piroghe e un localino in riva al mare, in cui è piacevole bere una bibita fresca rilassandosi all'ombra delle palme.
