Island

While looking for a place to get a quick lunch without breaking the bank in the heart of New York's East Side, we got a little lost...so we decided to cut our losses and find a place online. We returned home and found Island, on Madison Avenue, and enjoyed a break for some gourmet food. The dishes are original and well presented (we loved the Nicoise salad served with a block of fresh tuna), the reasonable prices and attentive service. The restaurant was worth the detour, and was almost entirely populated by older people, and the atmosphere is serene and intimate...well worth the time!
