2 reviews of Isa Bey Camii

Mosque for the Turks, barefoot and covered.

At the bottom of the hill Ayasuk, where you can find the citadel, is the lovely Isa Bey Cammi. This mosque was constructed in the year1375 by the Emir of Aydin, Isa Bey in a transitional style post-and pre-Ottoman Seljuk. Just Delane of the mosque there is a bust of his predecessor. The entrance is free and worth spending time in the yard. Not a tourist spot especially , it would be much more if it was closer to the ruins of Ephesus. Therefore it is quiet. Inside the temple is also accessible, you must go barefoot and there is prayer. It is necessary to cover your head and be respectful. It is worth access inside Isa Bey Camii to know what a mosque is for the Turks, which is not subject to pressure from tours and divided into zones or filled plastic bags to keep shoes.
