Popular among surfers

The beach of Aruttas is located just north of Oristano on the Sinis Peninsula. It is several hundred meters long and stands out for its sand composed of small grains of quartz which appear in hundreds of colors ranging from pink to white to light green. Like other beaches in Sinis-Montiferru, this one is popular among surfers, especially during the winter months when the waves are majestic. In the summer, you’ll have to settle for working on your tan!

Is Arutas is an amazing beach

Miles and miles of white sand and blue sea wait at Is Arutas. The whiteness of the sand defies description and probably requires a good pair of sunglasses! It's locally known as "rice grain beach" because of the tiny quartz crystals that compose the shore. When you add to that the fact that it's still free of the mass-tourism and crowds so common on the Sardinian coast, it's paradise. That's why I'd really suggest spending at least one day of your Sardinia trip at Is Arutas.

Is Arutas is easy to reach by car and there's a parking lot nearby. There are some small snack bars at the beach where you can have lunch.

Beautiful colors

Excellent

I visited this beach at the beginning of June and it wasn't too crowded. I’d like to know how crowded it gets in the middle of summer, though. The sand is grainy and comes in a ton of beautiful colors. I hope this beach stays semi-wild and we can keep enjoying it year after year.
