Heraklion

In the centre of the island of Crete you will find Iraklion. It boasts both Turkish and Venetian monuments as well a very important archaeological museum. Nearby is the Palace of Knossos. It has plenty of nightlife.

Heraklion is the capital of Crete. It has a fishing port guarded by an imposing Venetian fortress. Here you can see the remains of Roman baths in the bottom of the city. This city has all the elements to be an archaeological treasure. Worth a visit.
