Igreja de São Sebastião

Erguida em um bucólico recanto da cidade de Resende e se destacando na paisagem, lá está a Igreja de são Sebastião. A capela é bem simples, mas tem uma beleza que, maximizada pela paisagem do entrono, forma um cenário que lembra uma pintura arcadiana. Construída no início do século XX, o lugar é mais que um ponto de referência (já que geralmente os turistas tomam a construção como marco para se localizar entre os passeios da cidade), ela representa o início das atividades na pequena aldeia. Mesmo monocromática, aliás talvez esta seja a beleza que a destaca dentro do verde e as serras que circundam o lugar, a Igreja de São Sebastião representa o marco dentro de Visconde Mauá, o lugar onde tudo começou na localidade. Atualmente, mais que a locação central na cidade, um local de descanso e contemplação para os turistas, a Igreja de São Sebastião encontrou uma nova vocação. Desde o seu centenário (que ocorreu em 2012), a igreja recebe concertos e festivais de músicas que dão tom e novos ares ao prédio histórico. Também, maior parte dos festivais da cidade ocorrem no seu entorno, assim, de uma forma de outra, quando você for visitar Visconde de Mauá, com certeza você irá conhecer a Igreja de São Sebastião.

Erected in a buclico corner of the city of Resende and highlighting the landscape, l est the Church so Sebastio.
