Saint Anthony Church

A Igreja de Santo Antônio Abate, em Agnone, interior da Itália, é uma das muitas construções religiosas que resistem ao tempo e mantém a beleza da época em que foram erguidas. Localizada na pacata província de Agnone, região de Molise, sul da Itália, cidade conhecida pela fabricação de sinos, a igreja resiste como assim também o faz o pequeno vilarejo que a cerca. Fundada em 1128, ainda mantém a porta românica com incrustações. Destaque para a belíssima torre do sino, construída no século XVIII e projetada em 1725. O interior possui uma nave que se abre em dez capelas laterais, separadas por pilastras jônicas, com características de estilo barroco-rococó, e tem cinco altares de cada lado. Na parede da frente o visitante encontrará o altar do século XVIII, em mármore, e uma tela que conta a história bíblica da multiplicação dos pães. Há ainda telas que contam o Juízo Final, o sacrifício de Isaac, a expulsão do paraíso, e a entrega das leis para Moisés, de Francesco Palumbo Agnone, do século XVIII. Do mesmo autor, há ainda pinturas que reproduzem a "Natividade" e "Senhora do Carmo". A visitação à igreja é item obrigatório para os amantes de História e Arquitetura.
