1 review of St Blane's Church

Tribute to a saint who founded the town?

Excellent

It is suspected that there was a church in this place for a long time before St. Blane, a holy catholic Celt, founded the town during the 7th century. The importance of this saint is obvious by the name of the town, Dunblane. There is not enough historical evidence, however, to affirm the existence of another building that existed prior to today. The small church that exists today was built in the late eighteenth century which indicates that it was never Roman Catholic since the Scottish Reformation took place during the sixteenth century and John Knox, who founded the Church of Scotland (Calvinist) has always been in charge of this building.
