After the wall

And most of the monuments of Palma are related to religious architecture, I think in an attempt to impose upon the Arab culture that gave blood to the city until the Reconquista. So the greatness of churches like this of the Assumption, built along the XVIII century on the site of an ancient temple, with a beautiful tower, pure spun, built of brick and decorated with tiles in the purest style of Seville. Inside, the churrigueresco explodes in all its artistic splendor, though curiously background on immaculately white walls, broken by Rococo altarpieces and large pillars that remain from the original in a high, wide ship, guarded by balconies that open to it and from where the nobility of the area attended Mass every day. The main altarpiece, however, is a copy of the original, destroyed by the furious wrath of the militants of the Civil War. A beautiful silver chalice Gothic Renaissance, of great historical and artistic value is retained. Nearby are small gems like the Renaissance palace balcony Portocarrero or the Convent of Santa Clara.
