Hydra

This small island near Athens can be reached by hiring a boat in the port of Piraeus (100 €) or via a tour that typically includes three islands. The island is very intimate, with quiet streets, typical Greek houses, fantastic creperies and spectacular views. It is calm and peaceful, because there are no cars or motorbikes on the island and the only means of transport is the donkey, mainly used by fishermen and traders to move their goods. It's a delight to get lost in its streets or walk along the coast looking at the cliffs.
