Especially Medieval

Piata Huet, which is one of medieval Sibiu's oldest, is surrounded by beautiful historical monuments. In the middle of the square, there is the German Evangelical Cathedral, which was built by the Saxons. You can climb to the top for an especially medieval view. Then, there is the Brukenthal school, where, until the 19th century, you could find the German School. This was the city's first school. Many Saxons came from Germany to settle here, and German is still spoken today. The building was built in 1786 and is named after Brukenthal, ve was the governor of Transylvania in the 18th century. He also founded a group of museums and art galleries.

A statue of Teutsch, the Bishop of Sibiu, stands in front of the school. There are few terraces to sit in, but it's part of the city's must-see route with the Piata Mica and Piata Mare. In the north, there's the parish house with a Gothic doorway dating from 1502. The tower of the stairs leads down to the market and out of the city.
