Huertas del Rio

Past the bridge, before entering the village of Archidona, lies the hamlet of Huertas River.The Huertas River owes its name to the river that crosses it. Surrounded by orchards, fields of grain, and olive trees, the landscape is very green. The village is very small, although the area is becoming increasingly residential. There are several old but very well maintained farmhouses and a small church, the Church of San Isidro, which is the site of annual pilgrimage for the faithful of Archidona.
