House of the Shield

Éste es uno de los edificios más emblemáticos de Verín; se encuentra en la misma Ctra N-625 que atraviesa el centro del pueblo, justo enfrente de la [poi=83594]Capilla de San Lázaro[/poi]. Es un pazo del siglo XVIII, conocido como Casa del Escudo por el enorme escudo heráldico de piedra que decora la fachada principal, o Casa del Asistente, ya que en ella vivió el asistente personal del Conde de Monterrey en 1.731. En su interior alberga la [poi=83588]oficina de información y turismo[/poi], una sala de exposiciones temporales y un albergue de peregrinos con capacidad para 26 plazas (Verín forma parte del Camino de Santiago y de la Ruta de la Plata).
