House of Education

Built in 1758 by request of the Archbishop of Valencia, Andrés Mayoral, is this school for orphan. At the front there are two lions that frame a prelate shield and inside there is a courtyard with a marble Baroque fountain, and an interesting ladder. For many years the building housed the high school and is recently planned to house the art collections of the Musée de l'Almodí. Adjoining the square which bears the facade of the House of Education is the square of Santa Tecla, which is the name of a defunct church from a 1707 reconquest of the bell tower.
