Hotel Leirubakki

Petit hôtel sans prétention et avec un accueil assez froid mais très bien placé car dernier sur la route avant la piste F225 pour landmannalaugar(et un des rares). Il propose des chambres avec commodités privatives ou partagées à un prix assez peu raisonnable (la rareté des hébergements dans la zone favorisant la présentation d’une tarification aussi salée que l’eau qui sort de la source chaude privative est chaude !!!) La vue sur le volcan Hekla à quelques kilomètres seulement est superbe et un restaurant jouxte l’hôtel (assez décevant j’ai trouvé, surtout pour le prix qui est à l’image de celui de l’hôtel). Il y a aussi un centre «Hekla » présentant quelques animations et vidéos sur un des volcans le plus dangereux au monde puisqu’il ne prévient que quelques minutes avant de péter seulement. Mais je ne pourrais vous en parler : c’était fermé. Comptez toutefois environ 4,5 € pour pouvoir y accéder… Si vous chercher un hébergement typique, chaleureux et convivial, ce n’est surtout pas là qu’il faut s’arrêter. Par contre on accède à landmannalaugar en 1 h environ par les pistes F225 (1 gué) ou F208 (sans gué). L’option F208 comporte une station service juste avant de prendre la piste (attention si vous prenez cette option car c’est la seule station que nous avons vu qui ne propose pas de petit supérette intégrée). L’option hôtels Leirubakki avant une journée à Landmannalaugar nécessite donc de prévoir des provisions la veille !!!. Elle permet aussi d’accéder à Landmannalaugar sans 4x4. Une berline 4 roues motrices suffit. pour les campeurs, un morceau de terrain leur est réservé...

Small and unpretentious with a fairly cold reception but very well placed as the last road before the F225 track landmannalaugar (and rare). It offers rooms with private or shared facilities in a fairly reasonable price (scarcity of accommodation in the area promoting the presentation of pricing as salty as the water that comes from the private hot spring is hot!) The view of the volcano Hekla just a few kilometers is superb and a restaurant adjacent to the hotel (I found quite disappointing, especially for the price that is the image of the hotel). There is also a "Hekla" center with some animations and videos on one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because it prevents only a few minutes before fart only. But I could not tell you about it: it was closed. However takes approximately € 4.5 to access it ... If you look for a typical accommodation, warm and friendly, this is certainly not the place to stop. By cons is accessed landmannalaugar in about 1 h by the tracks F225 (1 ford) or F208 (without stepping). The F208 has an option station service just before taking the track (be careful if you take this option because it is the only resort we have seen that does not offer integrated small supermarket). Option hotels Leirubakki before a day in Landmannalaugar therefore requires the use of provisions Eve!. It also allows access to Landmannalaugar without 4x4. A sedan 4WD only. for campers, a piece of land reserved for them ...
