Hotel Gorgona

Hotel Gorgona is perfect for those traveling on small budgets, and the value for the money is great. The rooms are basic but very clean and air conditioned. The buffet breakfast is served on a very peaceful terrace and there is free wi-fi in all common areas. I stayed in early June and the hotel was very quiet and I was the only person at the pool! While there is no sea view, the beach is only about 100 meters away. There is a local bus every 15 minutes to Heraklion, which is an excellent base to start and finish a tour of Crete.
