An unforgettable stay
The Hotel del Sitjar pleasantly surprised us from the first moment. Entering, the transparent floor allows you to see the centuries old remains of the previous building which existed there, after that, the lounges decorated with alabaster give way to the restaurant and the rooms from which we can enjoy some fabulous views of the Matarrañamountains.
Some of the antique furniture that we encountered in the décor of the hotel is really impressive. The restaurant is very light, panelling made with strips extracted from the trunks of olive trees (an allegory to a land rich in oil) adorn its wall, which welcomes us while we enjoy a very nice gastronomy or a delicious oil tasting.
We had an oil tasting before dinner and it was very good. The food in the restaurant is very good, prepared with care and good taste, I would say it is one of the strong points of the hotel, together with friendliness of the staff. The rooms are large and quiet, fully equipped and very well decorated. The small swimming pool, is very original, since it looks out onto the narrow streets behind the building (the front façade looks out onto the square).
I also recommend that you enjoy the small terrace at the entrance of the restaurant at dusk, because they put candles and it is very nice and relaxing to be there.
