From hospital to museum / cafe
Some time ago I wrote about Cowane Hospital on Minube, but I hadn't realized at the time that the building I was referring to was the new hospital that isn't even a hospital anymore. Doing some academic research on one of the most famous churches in the picturesque city of Stirling, I discovered the old hospital, hidden behind some trees and almost forming a part of the church grounds. It was built during the seventeen century with money donated by the merchant John Cowane. The building is known as the Guildhall, and today is an art museum with a quiet cafe (excellent service). The main hall can be rented out for weddings.
