Grace Anderson
An interesting religious site
This is a Russian Orthodox church on the island of Unalaska, Alaska, in the Aleutian Islands. It was built by the Russian American Fur Company in 1824. The first priest here was Ivan Veniaminov who was canonized as Saint Innocent of Alaska in 1977.
The church is gorgeous, and looks like a gem on this precious, small Alaskan island. The church has beautiful art and icons inside of it. You are allowed to attend Mass, but the Russian Orthodox masses are very long and you have to stand while Mass is being given.
