Holiday Inn
After Labor Day, we decided to visit the Museum of Aviation. Before returning, we saw that we could also visit a national park, so we decided to look for shelter. After passing through downtown and finding nothing, we headed north of the city and took a right on River Plaza Drive, where we found a group of hotels and choose the Holiday Inn. It had a better looking structure, and the rate at the Hampton Inn was $129. After entering the Holiday Inn, the front desk service was very good, and since we arrived at the end of a conference that left them at low occupancy, the hotel offered me a Queen size room for $89.
We stayed one night. The were nice, the meals good, the room in perfect condition with wooden floors, though I missed the mini bar. There was a refrigerator, coffee maker, and complimentary envelopes and microwave, but nothing for a snack, though they had something at the front desk for sale. The bathroom bothered me a bit, because although furniture adds a contemporary feel, the floor was a little out of level, and furniture was a little uncomfortable. My son took advantage of the indoor pool, which was shallow but in a very friendly atmosphere. There was also a gym, but we didn't have time. The buffet breakfast cost $2.99 per adult, children free, and was a good start to the day. I registered for the premier club chains, knowing that we will return to these hotels, since we have gotten a great first impression.
