Hogmanay - New Year's Eve

Throughout Scotland and especially in Edinburgh, Hogmanay is celebrated on New Year's Eve. The celebration lasts for four days and four nights of festivals, with traditional activities and lots of entertainment. More than 80,000 people travel to the city center each year to enjoy the Concert in the Gardens and, of course, the fireworks that are launched from the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle to mark the beginning of the new year.
