Hilton Beijing Wangfujing Hotel
This hotel is located in the heart of Beijing. Although the hotel is named after the most famous shopping street in the city, it's actually not located on Wangfujing Street, but on a small side street, which was very confusing for us when we first tried to find it. The hotel is everything you would expect from the Hilton chain, pure luxury. The standard room is 50 m2 with a huge closet, an ideal spot to leave your suitcases and clothes, a bathroom with a separate shower area with handheld showerhead, a bathtub from which you can see the huge plasma TV, and a very nice dressing room. The bed is huge and very comfortable, and there is a sofa and a work area with a desk and speaker port for connecting Apple devices, such as an iPod.
The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool available to all guests, which is ideal for relaxing after visiting Beijing. Another thing that I liked about the hotel was the breakfast, which had plenty to choose from, and even included fresh produce (cheeses, meats, salads, fruits), traditional Chinese dishes, a large bakery and even a gluten-free selection for celiacs. The hotel is great, but, and it has one big BUT... in the room there's no free wifi. If you want to access the hotel's wifi without paying, you have to go down to the lobby.
