High Douro Vinhateiro / Alto Douro Wine

In my trip to the capital of Trás-os-Montes, we crossed a natural landscape and saw a river running through deep valleys and some wonderful vineyards. Alto Douro is a living cultural landscape, in other words the Douro region is considered World Heritage by UNESCO. Also, the Duero river still retains a significant number of protected areas, such as the Natural Park Alvao. The river also goes through the historic center of Oporto, another sacred heritage by UNESCO since 1996. Trade and transport of Douro wines to the city of Porto was established in the seventeenth century when there was the first mention of "Port Wine".
