A interdenominational chapel
The Pittsburgh Heinz Memorial Chapel began life as a gift from Henry John Heinz, founder of the Heinz company, who wanted to honor his mother, Ana Margarita. Various religious services were held in the chapel, but it doesn't belong to any denomination. Since its inception, the chapel has been intended to be interdenominational. It is open daily all year except for university holidays, and hosts about 1,500 events annually. More than 100,000 people participate in religious services, weddings, concerts, classes, funeral services, and guided tours.
