Harrys Hafen lived near the Port of Hamburg's St. Pauli district, most of the twentieth century. The young Harrys began buying and exchanging with sailors from remote areas, most unusual objects, and then sold them in his store. Over time, Harrys converted his store into a vast "Cabinet of Curiosities" ranging from a stuffed polar bear resting on the lintel of the door, to a real siren figurehead. Sculptures, carvings, masks, miniatures, polychrome tables, and countless animals lie in the basement rooms. There are hundreds, more than 3,000.
