Can be quite crowded during the peak times of year with 6,000 to 7,000 tourists on the reef at a time. But recommend exploring the scenic viewpoints and beaches on the drive upto the bay.
Well worth spending some time. Personal favorite is stopping by the street food vendors and taking in the views!
Really, the place is magical! It's protected and they give you a chat at the beginning about how to avoid damaging the environment. Aside from that, you can do whatever you like. The best part was when this big beautiful turtle decided to spend a few minutes swimming with me. Beyond exciting!
A half hour from the beaches, Hanauma Bay offers nothing but it is worth the visit to go see the coral and colorful fish. You only need a tube and fins. It is very much worth it.
Perfect place for snorkeling. You can see the massive amount of Coral from way up at the top of the hill.
