A pleasant stay
Gurnee is a small town halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee, (Illinois). It would have no relevance here if it weren't for the largest theme park in the American Midwest, Six Flags Great America. Other than this, it would just be a dull rural population in the undeveloped northern state. Because of the hotel, it has become a tourist center, with a negligible hotel and commercial offer. Its proximity to the park and the fact it was a Hampton Inn was what made us opt for this hotel when making reservations from home. The Hampton Inn represents the lowest level of the Hilton group and are located in the ranks immediately above the Comfort Inn or Best Western. It has three stars and locations are usually near highway exits or business areas of the suburbs, although there are also some in urban areas. Come on, they are breaded motels.
The hotel we stayed at was clearly aimed as a motel for people who are passing or Six Flags visitors, as it is located just off of Interstate -94 and less than a five minute drive from the park . The distance to the latter is walkable, but considering these suburban areas are not intended for pedestrians and virtually everyone travels by car ... Heading West, after five minutes you will reach a giant mall, Gurnee Mills , so that the ability to shop is also guaranteed. Hotel facilities are right for its category and price, which included parking, breakfast and wifi. As per usual, the room was somewhat brief in terms of size, the fact that in our case was that it was compounded by having two king beds. The front-desk staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and well maintained. Since we were on task (ie, to go to the park) we did not pay any attention to the pool area. The stay was pleasant and comfortable and, of course, if we returned to this park we would use this hotel again.
