Hampton Inn
We chose this hotel in Indianapolis for its central location and because of the Hilton chain, since we had the Hilton Honors points. The Hampton Inns are the lower-middle range of Hilton hotels, worth three stars. They are often at highway exits, and some, such as this, are in the inner cities. The location is perfect, right in the center, just two blocks from Monument circle and the Capitol, across from the Hard Rock Cafe and a large shopping center. Nearby there are shops, bars, and restaurants and most of the cultural offerings of Indianapolis. The facilities are adequate and in a historic building, which is appreciated because the modern aesthetics of the Hampton Inn are quite ugly.
They have valet parking, common in the city center. Breakfast was included in the price and was good in terms of variety and quality. The room was also appropriate to the category of establishment, if somewhat narrow, especially since we had ordered two king beds and there wasn't much space to unpack. The bathroom was functional if somewhat ramshackle. The only minor problem was with the Internet. The wifi was included with the price, and going out, it worked perfectly. On the second night, the connection was out. After much discussion with the front desk, we discovered the problem that the internet router at the end of corridor doesn't extend all the way to the middle. Apart from this, we had a pleasant stay. Totally recommended for price and location.
