Hakeem

This is a place without any pretensions, located on the main street of Arugam Bay. The boy named Hakeem brings daily fresh products for the food. My favorite dish in Sri Lanka was the Kottu Roti. It is a finely cut pancake with chopped vegetables, egg and sometimes a little chicken. For health reasons, I always preferred the vegetarian version. At night you can hear the tac-tac-tac of the restaurants as they chop the Kottu, usually in the open air on the street, because in the kitchen it is too hot. At Hakeem's the Kottu cost a little over one euro each plus 2 euro for a drink and finishing with a chocolate pancake dessert.
