A beautiful scenic spot
The Hayden Valley is home to abundant wildlife, with its large meadows crossed by the Yellowstone River attracting herds of bison, deer and elks. It's a beautiful scenic spot located about halfway between Canyon and Lake Village, where a bend in the river offers great views of the meadows and thick pine forests, with the high mountains in the background. Be patient when driving in the area: a bison often steps out into the road, bringing traffic to a halt until he decides to start moving again.
