Gurgling Nature Trail

Situato nel parco nazionale thailandese di Khun Chaen, questo percorso naturalistico non è eccessivamente lungo ed è fattibile in un paio di ore (considerando numerose soste per gli avvistamenti o per curiosare fra la folta vegetazione in cerca di qualche raro esemplare di orchidea). L'inizio della passeggiata è abbastanza scosceso e vi sembrerà quasi di arrampicarvi, ma poi il sentiero si assesta e procede più pianeggiante. Lungo il tracciato potrete osservare un grandissimo termitaio, un ficus che vive da decenni provvisto di particolarissime radici, diverse specie di uccelli, qualche ranocchia e, se siete fortunati qualche timido rapace diurno (solo al mattino molto presto o la sera dopo il tramonto). Al parco è possibile campeggiare la notte per soli 50 baht a persona ed il personale è gentilissimo e vi fornirà tutte le informazioni di cui avete bisogno. Il percorso è ben segnato e non potete perdervi!

Located in the national park of Thailand Khun Chaen, this nature trail is not overly long, and is feasible in a couple of hours (considering many stops for sightings or to browse through the dense vegetation in search of some rare specimen of orchid). The beginning of the walk is quite steep and you can almost climb, but then the trail settles down and goes a little flatter. Along the route you can see a huge termite mound, a ficus tree that lives for decades provided with very specific roots, several species of birds, some frog and if you're lucky few timid diurnal raptor (only early in the morning or in the evening after sunset). At the park you can camp the night for only 50 baht per person and the staff is friendly and will provide you with all the information you need. The route is well marked and you can not miss!
