the Mermaid
In this beautiful city, there are many monuments. One worth mentioning is the Mermaid which tells the story of a young girl on an Easter Thursday. She was a very naughty girl. She was told not to go to the river or she would be turned into a fish. Nevertheless, the girl went without much thought. She was never found but it is said they saw a mermaid. So that is the story behind this very representative monument in valledupar.
