Guardamar Beach

The main beach at Guardamar is always well cared for. It’s constantly cleaned during the summer and it’s aired out and oxygenized during the winter to help maintain its quality. This, in addition to the awareness of the inhabitants of Guardamar, has made this beach a winner three years in a row. You can say that it’s in better shape today than it was a few years ago, when the massive influx of tourists wasn’t handled so well. As you can see in the pictures, it’s a pleasure to walk on the beach and those from Guardamar take advantage of the empty beach during the winter, when it’s not packed with tourists.

I’ve spent many vacations and weekends here, at the Guardamar de Segura beach. It’s a calm and familiar place with one of the best beaches on the White Coast. The sunrise is spectacular. The fantastic view is worth prying yourself out of bed a few hours earlier than normal.

It’s an ideal place to bring the family and especially the kids. It has a mild climate year round (it hardly drops below 10 or 12 degrees Celsius in the Winter). There’s a great market each Wednesday. It’s just 28 km away from Alicante, 14 from Elche, in the bay of Santa Pola. Nearby you can find the Santa Pola salt mines, it’s a protected location as it's a Roman construction made over 2,000 years ago.
